Bigg Boss Telugu 9: Launch Date, Commoner Entry, Nagarjuna’s Fee, and More

Bigg Boss Telugu is returning for its ninth season with a fresh twist and even bigger entertainment. The highly popular reality show, hosted once again by superstar Akkineni Nagarjuna, will premiere on September 7, 2025, and stream on JioHotstar via OTTplay Premium. This will be Nagarjuna’s sixth time hosting, bringing his signature charm and energy to the stage.

For the first time in the Telugu version, commoners will join celebrities inside the Bigg Boss house. To choose them, the makers have launched a special segment, Bigg Boss 9 Telugu: Agnipariksha, where around 40 shortlisted participants will compete in unique tasks. The top three will earn a spot in the main season alongside star contestants.

The grand set for this season is currently being built at Annapurna Studios, Hyderabad, where the show will be shot over the next three months. The format change is inspired by the overwhelming response from the audience, following similar success in Malayalam Bigg Boss editions.

While there’s no official statement, industry buzz suggests that Nagarjuna is being paid nearly ₹30 crore for hosting this season. Several prominent faces from the TV and film industry are also expected to be part of the lineup.
